In 2003 the company launched its own brand, Avantgarde. The Avantgarde range is a well designed, low-cost alternative to (higher cost) European brands. Avantgarde is designed especially for high volume catering and foodservice areas such as banqueting in hotels, large scale industrial and institutional catering operations, and also the smaller operator who wants a stylish product at a reasonable price.
The Avantgarde brand includes chinaware, cutlery, glassware, hollowware, buffetware, banquetware and contract furniture. With partner factories located predominately in China the company sells the Avantgarde brand all over the world and has distributors located in New Zealand, the Pacific, Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.

Once you have decided on the items you want you can take samples away with you completely free of charge, to try in your own dining environment. We encourage you to plate-up your menu items on the chinaware samples to be absolutely sure it will work for you.
What happens if we don’t have exactly what you want ..……. With access to some of the world’s leading names in design we are able to utilise the services of our factories design studio’s to customise chinaware, cutlery, glassware and table linens for individual projects. Our factories do not require enormous production runs so it is possible for us to offer a custom- design service for smaller projects.

OUR INFLIGHT DIVISION – Food service solutions for inflight, cruise and rail
The company has a division dedicated to the design and production of special tableware and service items for airlines, cruise lines and rail. This division, IEI (Inflight Equipment International) provides design-based foodservice concepts and solutions for major international inflight, cruise and rail passenger carriers, who require a superior level of onboard service for their guests. Clients include Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Air, Etihad, Qantas and Virgin Blue.

The company is based in Sydney with a large showroom and trade centre located at Brookvale. In 2006 FEI opened an office, showroom and trade centre at Southport in South East Queensland dedicated to the servicing the Queensland market.
